The materials and protagonists that often inhabit my work, I imagine as side effects that cities and urban contexts produce. In this sense they are objects collected and recovered from the streets that have completed their function and live in limbo, waiting to become waste. I consider advertisements detached from subways, used mattresses, post-it notes or all the receipts, hall sheets, tickets and receipts that draw daily portraits of our lives. In this perspective, my work constantly relates to the “change of state” of matter, where by state we do not only mean the physical form in which matter exists, but also the role it plays within our society, the function it serves and the implications it carries.
Projects for Volcanic Attitude
IN RESEARCH RESIDENCY
The research period of Volcanic attitude 2025 would be an opportunity for me to field my research in a context where landscape is constantly being modified and redefined by the change of state of the matter that composes it, and I would have the chance to interrogate it with the will to trace the specific side effects of that territory.
