The 2023 edition of the Festival brings together scientific exploration and artistic performances, traversing a landscape suspended between the peaks of the craters of Vesuvius and Vulcano, passing through the Vesuvius Observatory, the kaolin quarries, the Gelso lighthouse, ancient wine cellars, and black sand beaches.
The infinitely small scale of muon particles and the Higgs boson intertwines with the vastness of cosmological observation, the geological densities of the Earth, and the geothermal energies emanating from the depths of the ocean: invisible dimensions,
or ones still largely unknown—matter and waves become experiential compasses within the festival program.
Science is a companion on the journey through the unexpected wonder of archaic sounds echoing among the pumice stones, the enchantment of beams of light that, like lighthouses from the sea, connect the islands, and the mystery of Cosmism and the island’s ancestral heritage linked to sexuality and to the culture of both the ancient and the present.
