Valerio Acocella

Valerio Acocella graduated in Geosciences at La Sapienza University, Roma, Italy. After a Ph.D. at the University of Siena, Italy, he moved to the University of Roma Tre, Italy where he is currently professor.

Prof. Acocella has been studying volcanoes around the world and in Italy, focusing on their structure, deformation, dynamics and pre-eruptive processes.
He has published >160 scientific articles and a 570 pages monograph on "Volcano-Tectonic Processes".
He ranks within the 2% world top scientists, according to a recent survey of Stanford University (USA).
